Arsenic Kitchen: Songs and Shows to Remember
If you attend an Arsenic Kitchen concert you will discover that this band is extremely versatile and theatrical.. During one of their shows they go from heavy metal to soft rock. They can bring down the house with one song and bring you to tears with the next (happy, emotional tears). It isn't often that a band is able to play heavy metal, alternative rock and then soft rock. All very beautiful and always giving audience a show to remember. They don't just play, they entertain!
Have a listen, like their pages, share with your friends this is a band they won't want to miss, head to a show if you are close by but mostly enjoy!

Show Your Love While Those You Love Live, Not Just When They Leave
As I was going through some old essays I had written I came across one I wrote in 2016 after a dear friend of mine passed away. I never told her how much she really mean to me, oh yes I know she knew I thought a lot of her but I don't think she really knew how much I enjoyed her and cherished having her in my life. As I was grieving the loss I wrote this piece. It reminds me of how important it is to show those you love how important they are while they are here to enjoy our love.
On October 10,
2016 at the school where I teach, we lost a wonderful teacher and friend. She
was taken from us instantly in a car wreck. The students and staff were all in
shock when we found out. You could feel the sadness in our building, the sorrow
we all felt at the loss of such a beautiful person, our P.E. teacher, taken
away so very young.
It was not long after the heartbreaking news that a little stuffed frog
was placed on the door of her gym, her classroom. Later on, I saw a red heart
and as the day went on cards and letters of love were posted along the rail
leading up to the gym. The kids hearts were broken, her fellow teachers and
friends hearts were broken. We were all at a loss and everyone wanted to show
their love for this amazing woman.
Every day the signs of love grew. Every day more cards, posters, stuffed
animals and signs of love went up to show how much we will miss and love her. I
took pictures for the school paper and I read the cards and posters that
express so much love. My heart ached because I will miss her and still does as
I think of that outpouring of love shown to this amazing woman. It was
unbelievable; hundreds of cards line the rail and the door leading to the gym
where she once spent most of her time.
As I looked at this beautiful expression of love and sorrow, I felt an added
sense of pain thinking how sad it is that this much love is shown to this
beautiful person after she is gone. It made me think of how characteristic it
is for people to show such an outpouring of love when someone dies. Yes, it is
for the family too but it is also to help our hearts heal. I think that is
wonderful but I am also sad that we do not show this outpouring of love to
people while they are here to enjoy it.
From all of the cards, flowers and other expressions of love I know she
was truly loved, deeply loved by so many. I am sure she knew she was loved
while she was still living but I am not sure she knew just how much she was
loved and the impact she had on so many lives. This again made me sad to
think that we don't show this kind of love to the living. Many people have no
clue how much they are loved, some don't feel loved at all.
So with this thought and as I reflect on the beautiful memorial tribute
that has been made to our wonderful teacher and friend I hope that I show those
who I love how much I love them while they are living. I also think maybe we
should celebrate those we care about while they are alive. Do not wait until
they are gone to give cards, flowers, and stuffed animals. Share that beauty
while they are alive and show your love for them.

Charlie Kirk Video States Why Covid Vaccines Should not be Mandated
I recently watched the linked Charlie Kirk video and found it comforting that there are still people in this crazy world who respect one another's right to choose what medicine is put into their body. Both parties speak respectfully to each other and let each other speak.
What is said by Mr. Kirk also hit home. He states all of the adverse reactions and deaths from the Covid vaccine which come from the government website VAERS:
They are:
- 818,000 adverse effects
- 83,412 hospitalizations
- 10,179 Bells Palsy
- 10,304 with myocarditis
- 92,000 Urgent Care visits
- 8,408 heart attacks
- 127,641 doctor visits
- 2,631 miscarriages
- 26,219 disabled
- 17,128 deaths
Mr. Kirk then states that those who do not want the Covid vaccine take that into consideration and that is why they do not want the shot. They have the right to say "this concerns me for my health and I do not want to put it into my body."
That is how most of those who do not want the Covid vaccine feel. To them the amount of adverse reactions and deaths are too much of a risk to put the medicine into their body. Many also fear what might happen in a few years from the medicine the Biden administration is trying to force on people. Those fears are real and should be considered.
On the other side of the issue those who do not want to risk the vaccine for the most part respect the right of those who believe the risk of the shot is worth it. They have the right to take the vaccine because they fear Covid as much as others have the right not to take it because they fear the shot.
The nastiness and bullying of the current people in the White House and of many other people in the world is discouraging to me. Sometimes it is overwhelming that so many people believe the politicians have the right to decide what others put into their own body. It is hard to handle how much this has divided our country, friends and family. It is so sad because those who do not want the shot are called evil and even Biden says they are hurting the country.
This short video is great, the young man who took the vaccine and asks the question is respectful when asking his question. Mr. Kirk is respectful in his response. At the end of the video both are still respectful. It was a breath of fresh air to see that exchanges like this can still take place. Neither are saying a person should or should not take the vaccine, Mr. Kirk is just saying it has to be a personal choice and there are many reasons why Biden should not be allowed to mandate it..
I hope that anyone either wanting the vaccine or not wanting it does their research. I also hope that those reading this post watch the video. It is so eye opening and refreshing.

8 Year Old Heartbreak Over Critter Country Splash Mountain Changes
My little eight year old grandson, Noah, absolutely loves to ride Splash Mountain at Disneyland. He feels like he knows the characters personally because I have the Song of the South stories and some Brer Rabbit books. He loves them so much. We read them a lot together and he reads them alone. As with many sweet characters he feels like they are his little "friends"
When we went to Disneyland in 2019 it took some coaxing but we got him on Splash Mountain. This year in 2021 when we went to Disneyland he was eager and ready to ride. We went on it several times and he sang along with all of the characters.
On our last day at the park we were on The Disneyland Railroad. As we went by Splash Mountain I said "farewell forever Briar Patch friends." My grandson asked me why I said forever and I told him that Disneyland was changing it to Princess and the Frog. He thought about it for a bit and got the most heartbroken expression on his face. I asked if he was ok and tears fell from is little eyes. He asked why they would get rid of Brer Rabbit and all of his friends. He wanted to know where they would go. I told him that they make changes sometimes and it will be ok. The other theme will be fun. He didn't say anything more at that moment.
Later that evening we were eating at Bengal Barbecue. He started to cry again and said "I don't know why they have to change something a guy really loves" I told him that I didn't know either and I was sad about it too but we would love the new ride. And he said he won't love it. I told him it will be fun but he was still worried about his friends from the Briar Patch. I told him we would write a letter to Disneyland asking them not to change it. That helped him to feel better so he could enjoy the rest of the time we had at the park. When we got home we read our Brer Rabbit stories but never go to our letter.
When his dad and his fiancé took Noah back to his moms accouple of weeks after our trip to Disneyland he thought of Splash Mountain again. As they were closer to Colorado he woke up and started crying. They asked him what was wrong and he said that he was sad about Splash Mountain. It was so random and so sad.
I called him a few days later and he reminded me again to write the letter to Disneyland asking them not to change Splash Mountain. The friends from the Briar Patch didn't do anything wrong and shouldn't lose their home.

Covid Exposed Heartless and Cruel People in Many Different Ways: A Cold Hearted Person Wished Death to the Loved Ones of Those Who Did Not Mask
I learned how very uncaring and hateful his thoughts truly are. I was glad he no longer considered himself my friend because I do not want to be friends with someone with such evil thoughts.
As Covid lockdowns etc. were in full swing, and yes sadly many people dying from Covid, this man made a comment on Facebook that I saw because one of my aunts who was still his FB friend showed it to me. It shocked me! He said how he wanted people who did not wear masks to suffer the loss of a loved one. I wonder if he just meant a loved one lost due to Covid or maybe just the death of a loved one in any way, car crash, heart attack, cancer.....I am not sure, he did not specify the death he wished on their loved ones. Regardless, that was one of the most inhumane, careless and completely evil comments I have ever knows a person to make. Talk about spewing hate. He only cares about those who agree with him. To the rest he wished heartbreak and death.
I just cannot in my mind fathom how anyone can wish death of a loved one on others just because they disagree. It is heartless and cruel. This made me so very thankful we are no longer friends. There is enough heartbreak in the world, I do not need to be friends with people who have such cruel and cold hearts.
